The Betts EV46227SSTS Emergency Valve is a 4-inch stainless steel, air-operated valve with a flanged 90-degree outlet, built to shut off product flow at the tank bottom in an emergency. It features a self-cleaning tapered seat with Teflon-encapsulated O-ring seals for broad chemical compatibility, along with a stuffing box using two O-ring seals for positive sealing. The external air cylinder is hard-coated aluminum with a polished stainless steel shaft, keeping product out of the air supply, and includes a 1/8-inch NPT air connection port with a fusible plug pre-installed. This valve must always be opened before bottom loading through it to avoid damage to the tank or valve.
