The Betts EV46472ALTS Emergency Valve is a 6-inch by 4-inch aluminum High Flow valve with a flanged 90-degree long radius outlet, built to shut off product flow at the tank bottom in an emergency while providing increased flow rates compared to standard 4-inch valves. The long radius elbow is intended for maximum flow where piping clearance allows. It features Teflon-encapsulated seals for broad chemical compatibility and a special lift mechanism for smooth operation, with a body constructed of aluminum and stainless steel trim. The shear section is tested per TTMA RP84 and meets 49CFR178.345-8. The external air cylinder is hard-coated aluminum with a polished stainless steel shaft, keeping product out of the air supply, and includes a 1/8-inch NPT air connection port with a fusible plug pre-installed. This valve must always be opened before bottom loading through it to avoid damage to the tank or valve.
