The Betts PPVL820BXB is a 20-inch offset manhole with a zinc-plated steel clamp ring cover and strongback, an integral E-coated aluminum PAF 406-98 pressure relief valve, Buna-N gaskets, and no weld collar included.
The Betts PPVL820BXB Manhole Assembly is a 20-inch offset clamp ring style manhole with an integral PAF 406-98 surge suppression pressure relief valve for DOT406 and TC406 cargo tanks. The 10-inch reclosing pressure relief valve meets the dynamic pressure surge requirements of 49CFR178.345-10(b)(3)(ii) with less than one liter of leakage as tested per TTMA RP No. 81, and its cover doubles as a quick-open inspection hatch with a secondary safety catch. This assembly includes a 6496 P/V normal vent, and the offset manhole design provides mounting provisions for a bolted-style vapor recovery valve and liquid level sensor. The manhole cover and strongback are constructed of zinc-plated steel, while the PRV cover and normal vent are aluminum, with Buna-N gaskets throughout. It is certified per 49CFR178.345-5 with a 36 psig test pressure. The weld collar is not included and should be selected separately to match the tank shell material.
