At the bottom of each hopper section, aeration pads introduce compressed air into the powder, causing the material to behave like a fluid — a process called fluidization that reduces friction between particles so material flows easily through discharge pipes. When the air pad degrades or fails, unloading slows dramatically and issues like bridging and rat-holing can occur. Replacing a worn pad with the correct OEM-compatible part restores full system performance.
The TKA8809 features a 30" OD fabric pad with 24 bolt holes, designed specifically for Fruehauf-style aeration systems. The porous polyester fabric construction allows low-pressure air to distribute evenly across the pad surface, fluidizing dry bulk materials including cement, lime, flour, plastic resins, and flyash for fast, complete trailer discharge.
